Airport Options

The nearest airport to Marbella is Malaga Airport. It is about a 40 minute drive to Puerto Banus (59 km) - our recommendation.

If you are only planning on coming to the Wedding on the Sunday and intend on making your OWN way to the wedding, then Malaga airport is just over an hours drive to Sotogrande where the wedding venue is (102 km). Gibraltar Airport is only a 30 minute drive (25 km) to the wedding venue, but will require you to cross the border into Spain.

Malaga Airport Transport Options

Taxis/Private Transfer

The best method of transport from Malaga Airport to your accommodation is taxi, it costs around 70-90 euros from there to Puerto Banus, depending on the time of day/traffic etc. You can get taxis from outside the airport , or you can ask your accommodation to help you pre-book in advance with a fixed fare of a similar rate, or Uber, Bolt and Cabify can be used on your phone when you land at the airport also.

We recommend travelling with others so that you can share taxis, but if you are travelling alone then let us know and we can try and see if any other guests are on the same flight who can share the taxi with you.

Car Rental

If you are planning on exploring all Costa Del Sol has to offer, then you can look to rent a car from Malaga Airport. Prices vary but basic rentals start around 30 euros per day. If you will be doing this, we recommend a car rental company that is onsite at the airport and doesn’t require a shuttle bus (learnt from experience how long this takes).

Airport Shuttle Bus

Your most budget friendly option is the airport shuttle bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella bus station, which runs frequently and only costs approximately 8-10 euros.
